The food and drinks are phenomenal. Highly recommend the Sea Bream. Very interesting combination of flavor and textures. It retains the complicated Indian/South Asian flavor profiles and uses of spices, and also maintains a great balance to make every ingredient on the plate stand out. It embraces the traditional flavor and adds contemporary touches. It's truly for everyone. The waitress Dana is super nice and offered us a complimentary dessert for our birthday celebration, please give her a raise! The place is quite small with a semi open kitchen and very nice ambiance. This place is definitely going for a Michelin star, highly recommend!
The team had a rough night tonight causing slower than typical service. I had to deduct a star. (They comped an app which took off the sting - but it was slow). We happened to be seated at the bar which not only gave us insight to the crazy, but a glimpse into how hard the team was trying that night. Cal and Mike were lovely bartenders/servers and the food was really good. We plan to return. The steak is a must try. The fries are so dang good. Dosa is more sharable than the samosa but they were both excellent.
I recently experienced this amazing restaurant in Brooklyn and had to come back just a week later with more friends. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. The food is beyond amazing. It truly takes your senses on a journey of flavor and cultures. Chef Jay Kumar makes you feel at home and exudes the passion he brings to his menu and vision. The lamb kebabs, delicata squash, sesame-crusted tuna, steak, sea bream ssam, brussel sprouts were among our favorites. The desserts were also very unique and flavorful. We will definitely be coming back again and again!
The place is small and the tables are very close together. The service is excellent. The appetizers were probably the best part of the meal. We got the dosa, which had a delicious filling and samosas that were really good. The entrees were well prepared and cooked exactly right. The sauces were really the most exciting part. Overall, a unique food experience that as well executed
Food was delicious! We had the dosa and squash starters, both were superb, followed up with the sea bream, lamb chops, and Brussel sprouts which were all great! Service was friendly, not pushy. We did not get any cocktails but they looked very delicious. The only down side was that the tables were so close together and felt like everyone around us was trying to talk over each other. Would absolutely come back to try their other menu items!
"Lore," the Indian flavor restaurant, is truly a culinary gem. From the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Lore is a gastronomic journey through the diverse flavors of India. I had the pleasure of savoring several dishes, and each one was a masterpiece in its own right. The Dosa was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, and the fish and chips was fresh and light with amazing flavorful sauces to pair. The explosion of flavors, and all the vegan, and vegetarian options were equally delectable.
But what truly sets Lore apart is the impeccable service. The staff's knowledge of the menu and their recommendations were spot on, enhancing our dining experience. The attention to detail and their willingness to accommodate dietary preferences and allergies is commendable. To top it all off, Lore's dessert offerings were divine.
In summary, Lore is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and exquisite Indian dining experience with a twist. The fusion of flavors, the elegant ambiance, and the outstanding service make it a standout restaurant. It's not just a meal; it's a culinary journey through India's diverse and delightful flavors. Shout out to Jay to bringing this wonderful restaurant to life and executing it perfectly every time we visit.
Lore is a cozy and relaxing space to dine in. The staff was very friendly. I had been looking for a good dosa in Brooklyn for a while now, and Lore did not disappoint. The semolina pudding was delicious. I highly recommend the place if you're in the mood for upscale Indian food.
Dining at Lore was fabulous — the food was truly delicious, the ambiance was beautiful and cozy, and the service was top notch and so friendly. The Indian dishes were to die for — living in New York, we are often a bit disappointed at the lack of truly authentic and tasty Indian food options, but Lore is such a welcome addition to improve that. The whole menu was great from top to bottom, but don’t skip the lamb kebabs or the sea bream. Also the portions are generous — but you should still over order and just take home your leftovers. :)
